Paul was born in 1953 in Oak Park, Illinois, just south of Chicago. He earned a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and is happily married with three siblings. He went into Law Enforcement for various agencies in Illinois and Florida and retired from the Pinellas County Sheriffs Department as a Commercial Helicopter pilot after serving 35 years in law enforcement.
Paul had another passion which drew him to the ocean. He loved being by the water and on boats. Paul owned his first 18-foot Formula motor boat when he was 20 years old. He boated in the “Chain of Lakes” in Fox Lake, Illinois for many years. He has own several motor yachts and has been in the marine service industry for over 35 years. Paul received his Merchant Marine 100-ton Master License in 1988 and started a yacht transport, management and training company in the Tampa bay area in 2015 and became a Yacht Broker in 2017.
When Paul moved to Dunedin Florida, he was inspired by the United States Coast Guards various missions and later joined the Coast Guard Reserve in July 1988. Paul being in public service and in law enforcement, thought the Coast Guard would be a great fit to his career. Paul accomplished several Coast Guard certifications and training certificates during his 25-year career. He was certified on several platforms as a Boat Crewman, Engineer, Boarding Officer and Coxswain. Paul deployed on many search & rescue missions, logging thousands of underway hours on Coast Guard platforms. His love was teaching & educating Coastguardsmen and recreational boaters in the safe operation of their vessels. Paul retired from the United States Coast Guard in 2013 and now continues to be active in his retired life in serving the boating public in education, training and vessel safety. He also personally continues with his life’s passion in boating and flying himself.
